WILLIE KINGIN HAASTATTELU

Mikä on miehiään toinen ulkomaan elävä Willie King? Willie pelasi viime kaudella Edmonton Stallionsissa Nathan Connorin kanssa. Willie on kovan luokan pelimies joka on ollut lähellä jopa NFL pestiä. Willie on pelannut uransa aikana mm. WR:nä ja takonut kovia tuloksia Collegessa, lisäksi hän on pelannut jo kuopatussa XFL:ssä safetyna. Kaudella 2004 WIllie pelasi Edmonton Stallionsissa QB:na joka osoittaa että tämä pelimies onkin varsinainen joka paikan höylä. Tell about you birthplace Clewiston:

It’s a pretty nice size city.Lots of sugar cane fields.

Teams where you have played:

I've been playing football since I was 7 years old. I played High school football at Moore Haven High in Florida, where I started at QB freshman and safety. I have the all time record for most Ints. in a season(21) and the most punts and kickoff returns for a TD. Then I went on to play at Dodge City Community college as a receiver where I held the JR. college record for most yards in a game 15 catches 304 yards and 4 TD's. Then I went to the University of Wyoming and had a pretty good career. Then I went to Seattle as a free agent and made it to the final cuts. I went on to play area 2 for the Fort Myers Bobcats for a season. I continue on and went to the XFL with the Birminham Thunder Bolts where I was a safety and then I came to Canada and tried out for a few teams that didn't work out then I found the Edmonton Stallions where I played QB and DB along with Nathan

Tell us about your family:

I am the oldiest of all the kids. My parents split up and I have 2 brother 28,26 and 3 sisters 24,23,16.I'm married to Erin King and I have 2 kids Lakeisha King and LaDainian King

What is your impression of Butchers?

From what I know I see that a lot of guys are working hard to become better and that’s what I like the most. As long as we have players that think they can win I don't think we'll have a problem.

AFL (Alberta Football League) is unknown here. How you describe level and toughnes of playing in that serie?

The AFL is a pretty good league I had a great time there..You have to be very tuff because alot of the guys you play against have nothin to lose so you kinda have to play with a bit of a chip on your shoulders.

You played QB position in Edmonton Stallions but you reached over 553 yards in season 2004, looks like a lot of scrambling. What was team Stallions offence gameplan?

Yes there were a lot of scrambling but thats what type of QB I am but when given time I can deliver, lol, the gameplan was to just let me and Nathan go out and do our thing and that we did..

What are your personal goals here?

My personal goals are to lead the lead in whatever I'm playing and just become a better player. 

What you are expecting for upcoming season?

My goal there is to do whatever it take to win a championship. And make new friends.

What is your figure/knowledge of Finland and/or Finnish american football?

Well I don't know much about football in Finland but I'm excited to learn more about the league and the city.

What is your vision for your status in the team?

Well I just want to come in and try and be a leader contribute right way.

Butchers fans are very passionate for the american football&Butchers, how you are going to satisfate them?

I like to hear that the fans are excited about there football team cause I like to enter act with the fans with me and Nathan add to the roster we will no doubt be tuff to stop. I'll give them everything I have while I'm there

What makes difference between winner and loser?

The difference is that a winner knows how to handle most situations and deals with it. Like a champion.

Who or what you respect most?

I respect my mom the most cause she work 3 jobs when I was coming up to make sure I have everything I wanted. She taught me the value of hard work and what it can lead to.

Is there something you want to say to fans/teammates/coaches?

I'll see you soon and we'll turn heads this year.

What Nathan thinks about Willie:

Willie King is the perfect all around football player.  He has size, speed and quickness that helps him to not only play, but excell at different positions.  He leads by example and always does his job and more.  He is also a good guy.  From what I gather he will be a good fit for the Porvoon Butchers.  

We were a good one, two combination when it came to offence, both very explosive dangerous players who can make things happen every time we touch the ball.

I was really excited when I heard that Willie, a former teamate of mine, would be coming to Finland to play with the same team as me.  We work very well together as a team and I think this will benefit the Butchers.  Its good to have someone you know and trust playing with you, and this will hopefully result in a championship.

Willies strongest skills in American Football are his size, speed and agility.  And the way he can fill any spot on the field.  There isn't anything he can't do, and he'll be the first to tell you that.

I like the slogan, "There's gonna be hot time in the old town this summer".  Because thats what it will be.  The "destruction duo", as you said, will be ready to play and I hope the Butchers fans are ready to see alot of action, and are ready to celebrate alot of wins.

What Willie thinks about Nathan:

Nathan is a great back to have behind a QB cause at any given time he can break it big. He's physical and that’s what I like about him. He's a good team player and we are a lot alike because like him I always want the ball in my hands at crunch time and I respect that and him as a player.
