Iloinen ranskalainen Jordy Adjetey viihtyy Porvoossa
Butchersin puolustuksen takakentälle loppukaudesta hankittu EU-vahvistus on kotiutunut Porvooseen hyvin ja odottaa innolla loppukauden otteluita. Ranskan maajoukkuettakin EM-kisoissa edustanut Jordy Adjetey on 22-vuotias, erittäin urheilullinen ja motivoitunut pelaaja.
Vaahteraliigatauon aikana Jordy harjoitteli ja pelasi EM-ottelun Iso-Britanniaa vastaan Ranskan maajoukkueen mukana. Odotukset olivat korkealla, sillä ranskalaisten leiri sujui hyvin, mutta varsinaisesta EM-ottelusta tuli silti tappion myötä pettymys, kun Iso-Britannia voitti todella niukasti lukemin 6-7. Puolustukseen ja omaan suoritukseensa Adjetey oli kuitenkin tyytyväinen. Lokakuussa Raska pelaa Serbiaa vastaan EM-kisojen viimeisen ottelunsa sijasta 7.
Adjetey kertoo tulevansa 5-henkisestä perheestä, jossa isoveli pelasi amerikkalaista jalkapalloa menestyksekkäästi ja onnistui pääsemään Kanadaan pelaamaan. Tästä myös Jordy sai kipinän, jolloin veli ohjasi hänet lajin pariin. ”Isoveljeni auttaa minua edelleen harjoittelussa ja motivaation ylläpitämisessä. Lisäksi olen katsonut sarjaa nimeltä Last Chance U, joka motivoi minua olemaan tiukka sekä vahvistaa haluani pelata tätä lajia ammattilaistasolla.”
Jordy Adjetey on kotoisin Pariisista, josta hän saapui aivan toisenlaiseen ympäristöön Porvooseen. Elämä Pariisissa on ollut täysin erilaista tähän vehreän pikkukaupungin menoon verrattuna. ”Ihmiset täällä ovat ystävällisiä ja ilmastokin on mieleinen, joten minun on ollut helppo ja rentoa keskittyä olennaiseen. Pidän täkäläisestä elämäntyylistä", kertoo Adjetey.
Vapaa-aikaansa Jordy viettää pääasiassa muiden ulkomaan vahvistusten kanssa, joiden kanssa hän asuu. ”Tykkään käydä kuntosalilla, jolla edistän terveyttäni sekä fyysistä kuntoani, jotta olisin valmis otteluissa ja harjoituksissa. Lisäksi rentoudun pelaamalla videopelejä ystävieni kanssa.”
Kysyttäessä millaisilla mietteillä Jordy suuntaa loppukauteen, hän kertoo, että yrittää pysyä keskittyneenä, sillä sarja ei ole vielä päättynyt. Jordy haluaa päättää runkosarjan hyvällä fiiliksellä ja voitolla. ”Fokuksemme on oltava keskittyminen voittoihin ja siihen minä itse asiassa keskitynkin.”

What's up after the EC break? Actually you were a player on the French national team, how did your game go?
”The training camp went well. We had the best preparation we could have, but unfortunately the result of the game wasn’t the one we expected related to how we trained. Concerning the defense we manage well but the attack team struggle to push the team and to score. It remains a disappointing result. Concerning my performance I made a good match, I succeed to block a PAT and I had a ball recovery.”
Tell us a little about your background, where in France are you from? How did you grow up to be an american football player?
”I grow up in Paris in a family of 5. My older brother played American football and manage to go to Canada to play so he push me into this sport and helps me with training and motivation. Furthermore I’ve watching a series named Last Chance U, which motivates me to be strict and consolidate my wish to play this sport in a pro level.”
You have been in Porvoo only for a short time, but how has our city appeared to you?
”I didn’t live in a small city and it’s very different comparing to Paris. It’s a small town with a lot of green area. People are kind and the climat is relaxing so it’s easy for me to be focus and relax on my discipline. I like this kind of a lifestyle.”
So how about your time outside the football field? Do you have ny other ”hobbies” on your spare time?
”During my spare time I try to spend time with the other imports in order to make create link and for us to be friend and partners. I like to go to the gym to improve my health and my physical condition to be ready for the games and the training. Futhermore I spend time on videos games with friends to relax.”
Just one more game of the regular season left, and the home advantage in the playoffs is already secured. What thoughts do you have heading into the end of the season?
”I try to stay focus, it’s not end yet and I want to end on a good note and on a win with all the team. Remaining and staying focus on the win has to be our focus and I’m actually focus on that.”
I think the Porvoo central field will be crowded in the top semi-final in the beginning of September. Any greetings to Butchers followers at this point?
