JOHN PAUL FLORES IS BACK AND READY FOR ANOTHER RUN WITH THE BUTCHERS

“Baby I’m back!” 

Viimeisenä jenkkivahvistuksenaan kaudelle 2026 Porvoo Butchers saa takaisin tutun ja erittäin merkittävän paluumuuttajan, kun John Paul Flores palaa takaisin pelaamaan Porvooseen ja Butchersin hyökkäyksen linjaan.

Flores teki viime kaudella suuren vaikutuksen niin joukkueessa kuin myös liigatasolla, sillä JP:tä on kuvailtu yhdeksi parhaista hyökkäyksen linjapelaajista, joita Suomessa on koskaan nähty.

Yhdysvalloissa Flores rakensi vakuuttavan college-uran pelaten Dartmouthissa, Louisvillessä ja Liberty Universityssä. Hän osallistui NFL Draft -prosessiin käyden neuvotteluja Jacksonville Jaguarsin ja Kansas City Chiefsin kanssa. Lisäksi Flores on saanut kokemusta Dallas Cowboysin harjoitusleiriltä. 

Nyt yksi viime kauden tärkeimmistä palasista palaa takaisin Porvooseen tavoitteenaan auttaa Butchers jälleen taistelemaan Vaahteramaljan voitosta kaudella 2026.

So JP, what made you decide to come back to Butchers for another season?

“I decided to come back and join the Butchers firstly because of the amazing town that Porvoo is. The community as a whole and people of the city made it feel like home. I enjoyed the culture of the team and the great coaching staff.”

What did you miss the most about the team / Finland during the off-season?

“I missed being around my teammates and the environment in Finland with all its natural buety in wilderness and lots of sunlight in the summers.”

What does success look like to you and the team this season?

“A championship run would look like a successful season, having said that the Maple League is one of the best in the world and there is so many good teams and players in the league it will be a great opportunity to play amazing competition.”

“Kyllähän me ollaan todella tyytyväisiä saadessamme JP takaisin. Kyseessä on kuitenkin pelaaja, joka viime vuonna omalla pelillään ja esimerkillään oli erittäin tärkeä palanen meidän joukkuettamme. Hänen kokemuksensa, fyysisyytensä ja johtajuutensa näkyvät välittömästi koko joukkueessa. Lisäksi on hienoa, että tänä kesänä nähdään hänet yhdessä vanhan yliopistopelikaverinsa JJ:n kanssa.
